I have to be honest and tell you that there are very few marketing videos that I enjoy, from a marketing perspective.  Let me explain…

TV ruined marketing

Before TV, marketing was all about the bottom line, getting results, no b.s., just the facts!   Then came TV and the marketing landscape changed.  Minutes of “local” TV advertisement turned into seconds of big corporate Coke and Pepsi advertising and big money, thereby squeezing out the local small business.  Unique Selling Propositions and effective marketing material turned into “Creativity and Repeat”.  Don’t get me wrong, creativity is important.   An effective marketing message is more important.  Especially for small business that doesn’t have the big marketing budget of Coke and Pepsi.

Harness The Power of the Media!

Posted In: Marketing by Gregor Anton

What if I told you that you could secure space in your local newspaper that would be 10 times more powerful than a regular advertisement?

And what if I told you that with some basic knowledge and careful positioning, securing this powerful space can be just as easy as placing your usual ad?

And what if I told you that it cost nothing to have hockey star Trevor Linden promote an event?

I’d be straight out of a dreamland, right?  Not at all… Let me explain!

With the economic recession and job cuts, many people are turning to starting a small business.    Be your own boss, earn more money, work less, and do something you love doing, right?  When done right, it can absolutely pay off on so many levels.

If you are about to start off in business you will have no doubt heard these comments:
“So many businesses fail. Why are you doing this?”
“I hear that you need a large amount of money to get a business off the ground these days.”
“Why are you throwing away the security of your job?”

You’re at a party with a bunch of friends and see a handsome guy. One

of your friends goes up to him and pointing at you says, “She’s

fantastic in bed.” That’s ADVERTISING.
