Happy Canada DayCanada Day is July 1st of every year and is an opportune time to bump up your marketing efforts.  Remember the ABC’s.  Always Be Contacting.   Whether it’s a simple email, newsletter, or post card.   There are many ways you can contact your database.  What’s the most important part?  That you do it!

What is your Marketing Strategy for Canada Day?

There are over 100 effective ways to market your small business.  Holidays and noteworthy events are a great time to stay in touch, or as we call it in Marketing, drip on customers and prospects.   This year my strategy includes a newsletter and blog entry.  If you’ve missed the opportunity, then be sure to mark the next public holidays and noteworthy events on your marketing calendar and make a note to implement a marketing strategy for Canada Day next year.

Today I had the great pleasure of taking part in Currency Connect’s Forex Trading Training Session.  What does it have to do with Marketing?

Forex Trading is not unlike Marketing

You’ve likely heard me say that about Poker too. Well it’s all true.  Just like Marketing, when it comes to Currency Trading, you have to look out for patterns and trends.  It’s all strategy and patience.   Marketing is no different, whether online internet marketing, direct mail, or an advertisement, your moves are calculated and strategic.  You may get lucky with tactics, chances are however you’ll soon go broke from gambling.  There is no success or failure, just ongoing testing and measuring, following strategy, re-evaluating your moves, and patience.  Lots of patience!

10 Powerful Marketing Words

Posted In: Copywriting, Marketing by Gregor Anton

Marketers and Copywriters have always been nicknamed Wordsmiths.  Lets face it, if you’re good with words, aka the power of persuasion, you’ll likely have a talent for Marketing and Copywriting.

The right words will make your marketing material, for example a direct mail piece, an advertisement, or creative online marketing campaign, a success or it’ll leave you wishing you’d have hired a professional marketing consultant.

The right words add color and drama to your presentation, they make your marketing material more interesting, and they evoke emotions and paint a vivid mental picture that’ll make you the obvious choice and make your prospects want to pick up the phone and call you.

Summer is here, Canada Day is approaching, then Thanksgiving, Christmas and so on…

Now, what is so special about each celebration?  They all increase the selling of products. There are many reasons why you should consider seasonal marketing to promote your products, including the seven which are listed below:

1. People tend to buy more products during seasonal celebrations than the rest of the year.

2. People are determined to purchase products, so it is easier to persuade them to purchase a product you offer (assuming of course you are doing it the right way).

Have you ever felt overwhelmed by all the projects you have on your plate?

I’m sure you have. We ALL have.

But, if you want to seriously grow your business, you need to learn to focus your efforts.

A lot of folks don’t. And usually, they never GET anywhere because they’re spreading themselves too thin.

That’s a one-way ticket to frustration and confusion.

There are a lot of ways to make money online.  You can write an ebook (or better yet… outsource the darn thing).  You can promote affiliate programs with content sites.  You can build Adsense sites.  You can create a membership site (or three).  You can build sequences for your lists.  You can flip Adwords traffic.

With all this doom and gloom, I see many small businesses cutting their marketing budget. Many are frustrated with the economy, or the results their marketing efforts are getting them and as a result they cut their marketing budget.   This is absolutely the worst thing to do.

Marketing makes the phone ring and increases sales, and in these economic times, ensures you still have sales!   My question to anyone considering to cut their marketing budget is… “Are you looking to get more sales, keep your sales, or are you planning on shrinking sales?“   If it’s the latter then go right ahead, shrink your sales, and stop marketing!
