Critical Mass Vancouver 2007-06

Here is a great example of a “Viral Event” called Critical Mass.  It is a bicycling event held on the last Friday of every month at Stanley Park in Vancouver.   Originally founded in 1992 in San Francisco to draw attention to how unfriendly the city was to cyclists.   Now held in over 300 cities and costumes are encouraged, it’s a fun event!

I first heard about it myself last month after a nice dinner at the Sequoia Teahouse in Stanley Park.  All of Stanley Park was shut down for what seemed like a good couple hours, and while we were sitting there observing someone filled us in.   Soon thereafter it dawned on me… I’d seen this event before while living in Rotterdam, Holland.

This BC Day Long Weekend marks the 151st birthday of British Columbia!

Does it mark the anniversary of your marketing follow up strategy?  It should!  Holidays and Special Events are a great time to be following up. I use Send Out Cards as part of my follow up strategy.  It’s an easy to use greeting card system that saves me time and money by automating the direct mail process and sending my campaigns out automatically at the click of a button.

A signature file is an easy way to market your business!

Setting up your signature file with your website address lets everybody you write to know about your site.  This is an easy way to market your site and its products without incurring any extra cost.

If you are reasonably aware of what competitors in your industry are doing, you will have noticed that there’s been a real explosion of streaming video on their websites over the last year or so.

Some site prefer to keep it quite simple and use the video to deliver supplemental information, while others prefer to make it a main feature of their site and use streaming video to get their point across to the audience more powerfully.

It’s a no-brainer… You’ve worked hard to put copy and graphic content on your web site, so what’s stopping you from using the most powerful promotional tool of all time – STREAMING ONLINE VIDEO?

A study conducted recently by DoubleClick found that visitors are five times more likely
to click on an online video ad than an ad without video.

This is why major players like Cisco and GM have invested heavily into this technology. In fact, the amount of money spent for online video is expected to triple in the next three years. How ready are you to be a part of this new wave?
