What does H1N1 and the Swine-flu have to do with Marketing?

The news and “topical marketing” of newsworthy events  are great for getting media exposure.  Just flip open your local newspaper and see what the buzz is all about, then see if you can put a spin on it.  H1N1, Michael Jackson, and of course Halloween are the topics at present.   You could go one step further and see what the google keyword trends are, what the latest hot topic of discussion on twitter is, and what your clients and prospects are talking about.  Then tie that into a marketing campaign, and before you know it, when done right of course, it can go viral and make your phone ring.
