Culture– what a powerful tool to change your life. Culture is what you call the established ideals, beliefs and values of a particular block of people. There are set cultures in families, one’s workplace and world as well.

Every era have been home to certain destructive parts of a national culture that blocked the way of many who desire to become rich in their monetary and personal lives. Imagine this, only several years earlier, unfair discrimination against groups of people have been allowed to fester in cultures all over the world. The world would be a darker place without moral and outstanding luminaries like Mother Theresa, Martin Luther King, Jr., and Amelia Earhart.

The Gorilla Story

Gorilla with young, Bronx Zoo

This TGIF Marketing Moment I’m going to share a story with you about negotiating and clear communications.

A zoo had among its animals a female gorilla, whose mood was becoming increasingly difficult. The vet concluded that she was on heat and that a mate should be found. The vet contacted some other nearby zoos to find a partner for the broody female, but to no avail. The female gorilla’s behavior continued to worsen, but the vet noticed that she grew calmer, and strangely responsive, whenever a particularly well-built and none-too-handsome keeper entered the enclosure. Being an unprincipled and adventurous fellow, the vet put an outrageous proposition to the keeper: For a fee of five hundred dollars would the keeper consider spending a little ‘quality time’ with the gorilla, purely in the interests of research of course?….

TGIF – The Unexpected Experience

Posted In: TGIF by Gregor Anton

Here is a funny commercial that gets a good chuckle but that’s about all.  It’s unfortunate that there are so many bad commercials out there, worse yet, even more bad marketing material is out there from wanna be marketers that think creativity is what sells.

Fluffy pictures and funny videos are great when you work in Hollywood or are looking to win an award or impress someone with your creative skills.  What matters, especially in small business, is that you get results!   You don’t want someone to go “Wow that’s a cool {fill in the blank}”.  (Logo, Campaign, Flyer, etc).  You want your target market to go “Wow that’s a {product / service} that I need.”   “Tell me more about {fill in the blank}”.    Watch this video and tell me honestly whether you’d make your buying decision based on this commercial…

It’s considered by a number of that the first thing to do when a site is complete is to submit the URL to the search engines. Nevertheless, improved search engine rankings are no longer increased this way although it might have been true previously. A sitemap are able to be an extra bonus, but you are able to also indulge in other facilities online to help you rank better. You will not need to do this if you website has been constructed properly because the web-crawlers will do the job in any case.

Happy Thanksgiving USA

Posted In: Holidays by Gregor Anton

Happy Thanksgiving to our American neighbours to the south!

Thanksgiving or Thanksgiving Day, is celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November, and has been an annual tradition in the United States since 1863.

The first Thanksgiving was celebrated to give thanks to God for helping the Pilgrims of Plymouth Colony survive the brutal winter.
The first Thanksgiving feast lasted three days providing enough food for 53 pilgrims and 90 Indians.  The feast consisted of fowl, venison, fish, lobster, clams, berries, fruit, pumpkin, and squash. However, the traditional Thanksgiving menu often features turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes and pumpkin pie.

When one wants to increase website traffic, it is important to understand how Search Engine Optimization or SEO heavily depends on Market Research. A website, especially those whose existence is primarily to sell a specific product or service, often already has a specific group of people targeted even before it is created. This group of prospective web page visitors is called the target market.

To get your market to visit your web page, make sure you use effective keywords. In addition, you may also try getting the help of a SEO link building service. Through them, strategic placing of your URLs across the internet is done in the hopes of reaching your target market.

While driving from Vancouver to Kelowna late at night I ended up tuning into Bloomberg Radio and sure enough what comes on… a discussion about the importance of small business and how small businesses are the backbone of the economy.   Very true for the entrepreneurial USA and also very true for Canada, especially BC, the leader in Small Businesses in the country.
