Who comes up with this stuff?!? Well, Groundhog Day is one of those “fabricated” holidays that has become entwined in the fabric of our lives and we don’t even question its significance, or its’ relevance if you want to be truthful… The biggest takeaway is that you need to take advantage of existing holidays and special events, and fabricate new ones that are Marketable.
Groundhog Day according to Wikipedia is a holiday celebrated on February 2 in the United States and Canada. According to folklore, if a groundhog emerging from its burrow on this day fails to see its shadow, it will leave the burrow, signifying that winter will soon end in six weeks. If on the other hand, the groundhog sees its shadow, the groundhog will supposedly retreat into its burrow, and winter will continue for six more weeks.
So what is going to be your next holiday? Get thinking, “leave your burrow” and starting marketing holidays and events… this could be very profitable!
